Huckabee – Tries to create fear!

There is a new TV commercial out featuring Mike Huckabee.  During this entire commercial, he leans further and further right, just trying to make people afraid of the new Health Care Bill.  Everything he does during this commercial is basically framing the conversation to make the health care bill sound like it will kill you.  So basically he is lying.

Now he put himself in a position that during the next campaign (if he runs), he will half to lie about what he said on this commercial.  But I doubt he will have any problem lying his way out of it.

Just another lie to try and get a republican back in the White House.

We need to fight to increase the health care that we are now getting, not do away with it.  Wake up people.  If you aren’t rich, you should be for the Health Care plan, not against it!

The New Congress

After November 2nd, there will be a difference in how our Congress is comprised.  According to the polls, there will be more republicans and they may possibly have the majority.

The leaders of the current minority party have already stated that they plan to basically shut down all compromise with the democrats and the President.  Their only goal is to make sure that Obama is a one term President.

That proves my theory that they do not care one bit about the American people.  They are only interested in helping their special interest donors and the large corporations that are basically buying American by trying to own America.  They are buying this election.  It is a travesty and eventually it will come back to haunt them.

But for now, we have to continue to watch our future get worse.  Just when the democrats started making progress to get us out of the recession, the republicans got the 41st vote and started filibustering everything.  The American public has been  blinded by the lies and deceit.  They are not seeing the big picture.

Our Social Security is in jeopardy.  Our Medicare is in jeopardy.  Our retirement years are looking gloomy because of a bunch of right wing radicals and the Tea Party.

Come on America, don’t let these crazies take over our country.  They have an agenda that will reverse all the good things that the Obama Administration has done to put this country on the right track.

In 2008, you voted for change.  That’s exactly what you got and now you don’t even see it.  Do you honestly think that we can reverse the effects of 8 years of bad government in 18 months?  You have got to be kidding me!

So now you are moving backwards, just when moving forward counts the most.  As the old saying goes; “You get what you pay for”.  You put the republicans back in charge, and we will move backwards.  For God’s sake, the republican party has a 24% approval rating – less than the democrats – and you want to put them back in charge.  That is just plain stupid.

Well, lets look at the bright side.  If the republicans do gain control of one house, they own it.  They will be responsible.  When a proposal is made that would actually help America and the republicans vote it down, as usual, then they will be responsible.  Truthfully, right now, they should be responsible for all the filibusters they have been causing, but the American public doesn’t pay attention enough to even notice what has been happening.

Wake up America.  Wake up before it’s too late.

14th Amendment

Now the republicans are holding hearings to look into repealing amendments of our constitution.  They have lost their freaking minds.  The racists ways have come out now that we have a black president.  It was apparently hidden for years.   When the republicans want something that is supported by the constitution, they are 100% behind the constitution.  When they want something that is not supported by the constitution, they now want to repeal those parts of the constitution.  Idiots!

The republicans have a brain disorder.  When is the American public going to wake up?  When the republicans are for something they create the legislation, get behind it, get support for it – but when the democrats say yeah, we like that, we will vote for it too, the republicans then vote against it.  They are like little kids.  “Whatever you want, I don’t want”  nana nana boo boo.  The kids on south park are smarter that the republican party.

Now the only real reason that anyone follows the morons of the new republican party, is because they don’t know any better.  They actually believe it.  Why you ask, because they watch and believe Fox News.  Fox News Channel is the reason that people are getting the bad information.  They need to be stopped.  Return of the laws that would keep them from disseminating bad information would help America.  They shouldn’t be allowed to be called a News agency.  They are not.  Lets get those laws back on the books and also kill the filibuster.

Rand Paul – Civil Rights View

What is going on here Mr. Paul?  So you are showing us that you are possibly a closet racist!  Wow, now the republican party is showing it’s true color – and it’s mostly white.  I’m white and from the deep south.  I lived in Montgomery, Alabama in the 1960′s.  I was there and grew up with the racist crap.  Good thing I got out of there because it is still going on down there.  Now you are showing us that it is going on in Kentucky, like we didn’t know that already.  We don’t need your kind in Washington.  Since President Obama took office, we have seen more and more  racist come out of the woodwork showing their true identity.  I surely hope you do not make it to Washington.  We are trying to repair this country, not divide it more.  Why don’t you and Rush Limbaugh go somewhere else, another country.  See ya…

TRICARE and Our Children

The new health care bill allows you to keep your children on your health care plan until age 26.  There is a problem with this: If you are retired military on TRICARE and have kids that fall into this category who are either not in college or have recently graduated, this new law does not effect you!

Now this just sucks for those of us that fall into this category.  But all is not lost, I wrote a letter to all of my Colorado senators and I got responses back from 1 democrat and 1 republican so far.  As usual, the democratic senators are making their support clearly known.  Of course, the republican is clear that he has no spine or the will to vote for what is best for America and will vote with the majority of his party.  Basically giving the finger to all retired military personnel.  When are they going to wake up.

Here are the contents of these responses:

The Democrat response:

Dear Ron:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the TRICARE Dependent Coverage Extension Act (S.3201). I appreciate hearing from you.

I strongly support ensuring that our military personnel, veterans, and their spouses have access to high-quality health care. I oppose establishing enrollment fees and increasing copayments and premiums for military health care, and I will work to improve health care benefits available to military retirees under the TRICARE system. It is important to note that the recently-passed health care legislation does not affect the services offered under TRICARE.

Nevertheless, we can do more to ensure that families using TRICARE have the same options as families participating in other health care plans going forward. That is why I am an original cosponsor of S.3201, which was introduced by Senator Mark Udall of Colorado on April 14, 2010.

As you may know, S.3201 would allow children of active duty service members and retirees enrolled in the TRICARE program to stay on their parents’ policies until they are 26. Currently, TRICARE covers children to age 21, or 23 if they are full-time students.

Although this new benefit was already provided to civilian families under the new health care legislation, due to the nature of the Department of Defense health care system, families under TRICARE were not included. This important legislation corrects the disparity.

By extending TRICARE coverage to children until they are 26, we honor the sacrifice of those who have served in our military and provide much-needed coverage for many young people struggling to enter the workforce.

S.3201 was referred to the Committee on Armed Services. Although I am not a member of this Committee, I will continue to push for swift passage of this important legislation.

For more information about my priorities as a U.S. Senator, I invite you to visit my website at http://bennet.senate.gov/. Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Michael Bennet
United States Senator

Now for the Republican response:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me to share your support of HR 4923, the TRICARE Dependent Coverage Extension Act. I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to respond to you.

As a Marine combat veteran of the Iraq and Persian Gulf wars, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, and military retiree, veterans and dependent issues are very important to me.

With the recent passage of the new Healthcare bill, President Obama and his Democrat allies in the Congress have fundamentally changed the healthcare system of our country.  Reforming this system was a top priority of mine, but unfortunately this plan seeks to do so in entirely the wrong fashion. As you may know, one of the requirements of the Healthcare bill that was recently passed in Congress is that commercial health insurance
firms allow family plans to cover children until age 26. Currently, TRICARE covers children until age 21 or, if they are full-time college students, until age 23. HR 4923 was introduced to extend dependent benefits until age 26.

I did not vote in favor of the current Healthcare bill. I find it disturbing that the bill provides lesser benefits to veterans and their dependents than to Americans at large.

HR 4923 was referred to the Subcommittee on Military Personnel. Although I am not a member of that subcommittee, if it comes up for a vote please be assured that I will closely consider your views.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact me. For more information on my work in Congress on your behalf, please sign up for my newsletter at https://forms.house.gov/coffman/webforms/enews.html.

Sincerely,

Michael Coffman

Well, if your like me, then you see the same thing I do from these responses.  The democrats are supporting and fighting for our men and women in uniform and for those of us who have served and retired.  The republicans, not so much.  If you, Mike Coffman, wanted more in the health care bill for veterans, then you should have worked with the democrats and got it done.  But you are in the party of NO, and that is all that you know.

Right Wing Pundits – Lies – Good for Business?

The right wing pundits just keep pushing the same lies on a daily basis. Will it every change? NO. They don’t care about the truth – they only care about making money – lots of money. In that regard, they are very successful.

The question is: How long will the American people keep watching or listening? As the news travels about what is really in the new Health Care Law, the people will slowly get the real picture and begin to see that all along, the right wing has been lying to them to further their own careers. Screw the people! If they believe this crap, then just keep giving them more of it.

One of them said they would move out of the country if Health Care passed. Well, it appears that was also a lie. Just one more lie of many that comes out of that foul mouth.

This morning on the Today Show, Laura Ingram, a Fox News commentator, just continued these falsehoods. She was stating that the people that currently have health care will now have less care or lose their care. That is just a lie. She knows the truth, but that is not what she spurts out. She wouldn’t have a job if she told the truth!

So the bottom line is that the lies are good for their own bottom line, not for the American people’s bottom line. Until the public wakes up and stops watching these liars, it’s not going to change. They will just get richer and keep laughing at all of you.

Stop the Republican Reform of Health Care

The Republicans have now vowed to the repeal the bill.  We must stop this madness.  For nearly 2 years the right wing news agencies have continuously spouted lies and misconceptions about the new health-care bill that Congress has made into law.   The American public mostly has no clue what is really in this bill.   The information must get out to all of the people before the violent Republicans cause harm to democratic lawmakers in Congress.   The rhetoric of the past several days has risen to levels never seen in my lifetime.  Most of this hate is caused by misinformation put out by the right wing  just to stop the president of the United States from having a successful term.

The American people suffer from this hatred on the right.  It must be stopped.  At one time, I had respect for Sen. John McCain but now I have zero respect for this person.  I cringe to think of what would have happened to this country if John McCain and Sarah Palin had been elected to office.  It’s bad enough having John McCain in the Senate at all.

This November will be a turning point for this country.  The Republicans are running on repealing healthcare and taking away rights from the American people.  Once the people really understand what they have gained from the Democratic health care reform bill, they will not go along with the plan to return it to the way it was.  The Republicans will end up losing big in the elections.  The people supporting the right wing will not turn out to vote and the Democrats will win.
